There’s something really special about a courthouse wedding. It can be simple and intimate without feeling any less meaningful, and Olivia and Zach’s downtown St. Louis courthouse wedding was exactly that.

I met Olivia and Zach on a rainy Friday this summer for their St. Louis courthouse wedding (learn more about how to plan on the St. Louis Judicial Court website), and honestly, the rain just added to the charm of the day. They kept things relaxed, focused on each other, and embraced the fact that their wedding day didn’t need to look like anyone else’s.

A Downtown St. Louis Courthouse Wedding

Olivia and Zach chose the St. Louis courthouse downtown for their ceremony, keeping their wedding day intimate and uncomplicated. Courthouse weddings are such a great option for couples who want to prioritize getting married without feeling like they have to plan an entire traditional wedding day around it.

And while a courthouse ceremony may be short, that doesn’t mean the day deserves to be any less documented. I absolutely love photographing the anticipation and the excitement of being in the room with all the couples.
