Kate and Wyatt

Filed in Wedding  /

To say that I’m excited to share Kate and Wyatt’s Cannon Beach elopement story with you would be an UNDERSTATEMENT. Last month, I had the opportunity to fly to Oregon and share an incredible day with some amazing people.

I have known Kate and Wyatt for years. I graduated high school with Wyatt, and funny enough I even photographed his senior photos. Many of my middle school and high school memories include Wyatt, and it always entertains me how life works out. In this case, we found ourselves on the other side of the country, and here I was photographing one of the most intimate moments of his life.

I met Kate years later and always admired her intelligence, humor, and general presence. In fact, she always made remarks how she wanted me to take her wedding photos someday. So I’m pretty damn happened that it came true.

Kate and Wyatt’s Cannon Beach elopement was intimate and beautiful. Their best friend Ryan, who I also knew well in high school, married them at Hug Point. In total, there were only six of us that whole day: Kate and Wyatt, Ryan, me, and my friends Mike and Emily of Films by Juniper. Oh, and their dog Ro.

We spent the rest of their wedding day in the Cannon Beach area taking photos on the beach and in the Oregon lush. We came back together at dinner time where Kate and Wyatt made us a delicious meal and handmade cocktails.

I’ll let Kate’s words close out since she put it so beautifully.

“Ending our day by the haystack rocks in Cannon Beach, the world was peaceful and the breeze was sweet. We stood at the edge of the earth together, and boy, was it good.”

If you’re thinking about your own elopement, my passport is valid and my urge to travel is strong. Hit me up and let’s talk!
