Claire and Chris

This past weekend, I kicked off 2020 wedding season with Chris and Claire for their Schlafly Tap Room wedding! This was my first wedding back from maternity leave, and it was seriously such a gorgeous March day.

Before their reception at Schlafly Tap Room, they had their ceremony at Webster Hills United Methodist Church. It’s the same church Claire’s parents married in, so add a new layer of special.

Chris and Claire have been together for nearly 10 years! They are so laidback, which always makes it fun to go with the flow on a wedding day.  It was a true joy on my end to document the joy they share while together. They were constantly laughing and showing affection all day long. Seriously the cutest.

It was especially fun to document this wedding because I went to grade school with Chris when I lived in St. Louis as a kid. And Claire is the best friend to my childhood friend Carly, who did her hair. I love how small the world is, especially here in St. Louis. It always makes the day feel more intimate for me as a photographer.

It was amazing to feel human again after 3 months of maternity leave, let me tell you what. So happy that I could kick off the working mom life with Claire and Chris!
