Marta and John

At the end of August, I had the pleasure of shooting Marta and John’s The Franklin of Soulard wedding!

From the moment I arrived at Marta’s St. Louis childhood home, the house was filled with excitement and good vibes. Marta and her bridesmaid had adorable matching pajamas. Marta also has a few beautiful sisters, who were not only really close to her but also her bridesmaids.

The ceremony took place at St. Cronan Church, in the heart of St. Louis’ Grove neighborhood. I learned at their wedding that St. Cronan was founded in 1878. St. Cronan Church provided a picturesque backdrop, its historic St. Louis charm adding an extra layer of charm to the ceremony.

After the “I do’s” were exchanged, the wedding party made a pit stop at Humphrey’s Bar for a unique tradition: a shot out of a plunger. It was a hilarious stop and a highlight of the day!

Then we made our way to The Franklin of Soulard for the reception. The Franklin of Soulard wedding buzzed with energy as guests mingled and toasted to the happy couple. From heartfelt speeches to even a performance by Marta’s family, every moment was so special to them and it was an honor to document the moments unfold in front of me.

As I packed up my gear and bid farewell to the happy couple, I felt overwhelming gratitude that I get to spend days with really wonderful people like Marta and John.
