Emily and Charlie held their Central Illinois microwedding this past weekend at Emily’s parent’s home. I joined them on the 25th of July in the evening, all surrounded by bean and corn fields with the most beautiful golden hour.
Their plans were to get married in St. Louis on the same date, but with COVID-19 effecting their wedding, they scaled back their celebration and held a micro wedding ceremony. July 25th may not have looked like what they originally pictured, but I can tell you it was just as beautiful.
With Emily and Charlie living in Chicago, their wedding day was the first time I was able to meet them. And I’m so glad to have finally did! They are truly joyful people separately, and even mores together. They are such a lovely couple.
I loved listening to their vows, which included equal parts humor and how they adored one another. Emily detailed in her vows that the first time she met him she thought “oh, there you are.” Charlie jokingly thanked her for buying him off the internet. I hid behind my camera both laughing and crying.
I loved their intimate celebration because I had more chances to talk with their families. It is so clear they are so well loved. Their wedding may have been smaller in size, but I know this:
Congratulations C+E! So much love to you both!
