Tower Grove Park wedding

I celebrated with Nick and Sharnay for their Tower Grove Park wedding this past spring, and gosh I adore these two! I was able to take engagement photos for them at Forest Park in the fall and I was so excited for their wedding day.

The day kicked off with an emotional first look on the front steps of Sharnay’s Airbnb. Nick stood waiting, nerves and excitement in full swing, while Sharnay made her way outside on the front stoop. In fact, Nick was the first groom I’ve ever had that brought flowers for his bride.

The moment they saw each other, you could see the relief and happiness on their faces. I always advise couples that first looks are perfect for couples who are a bit nervous, as once they are finally together, it’s the two of them taking on the day together. It was the perfect way to start their wedding day before heading to Tower Grove Park for the ceremony.

A Rainy Yet Gorgeous Tower Grove Park Wedding

Rain was in the forecast, but I was still determined to get romantic and beautiful portraits of them. Their ceremony took place inside the Piper Palm House, a stunning venue with tons of natural light and tropical plants. So therefore, with plenty of natural light, we had the best case scenario!

Luckily, we caught a break in the rain, which meant we got to take some amazing portraits in Tower Grove Park. The overcast sky gave us that perfect soft lighting, and Sharnay’s bouquet (thanks to Flowers and Weeds!) of spring blooms was absolutely perfect. No matter the weather, this park always delivers when it comes to wedding photography.

A Laid-Back Reception at Home

After the ceremony, Nick and Sharnay invited everyone back to their home over in Illinois for a relaxed and fun reception. They set up a tent in their back yard and had Salt and Smoke cater for their guests. Between good food and socializing, the afternoon and early evening was filled with laughter and celebration. It was proof that a cozy, personal reception can be just as unforgettable as a big fancy venue.

Why a Tower Grove Park Wedding is Always a Win

Nick and Sharnay’s wedding is the perfect example of why Tower Grove Park weddings are such a great choice for St. Louis couples. The mix of gorgeous nature, historic architecture, and unique venues like Piper Palm House makes it a dream spot for wedding photography—rain or shine.

If you’re planning a Tower Grove Park wedding and need a photographer who knows how to make the most of this beautiful spot, I’d love to chat! Let’s capture your day in a way that feels true to you.
