Today I am sharing Adam and Leah’s Edwardsville family photos! There’s something so special, and of course authentic, about photographing families in their own homes, where they feel most comfortable and in their safe space. Recently, I had the absolute pleasure of capturing the Longueville’s Edwardsville lifestyle family photos. This in-home family session was a blend of laughter, dance parties, and joyful chaos, truly capturing the Longueville family’s daily life.
If you are a gal or mom in St. Louis, you may recognize Leah as the owner of Polished Prints! Despite being obsessed with the Polished Prints Mom Crop and pretty much everything they do, what made this session so special is the history of Leah and Adam in front of my camera.
2012 – Leah and I went to college and worked together at SIUC (Go Salukis!). She was actually our university’s newspaper editor-in-chief, and I worked as a copywriter as well as in the design hub. I needed some models, and I knew Leah and Adam were dating. We took photos on a canoe at golden hour at the school’s dock. A couple years later and they used those as their engagement photos.
2015 – I was living in Nashville, but came back to southern Illinois to shoot their wedding. I wish I could find their old blog post to share with you!
2022 – Adam, Leah’s husband, started the Mother’s Day tradition to gift her a family session each year. A tradition I always LOVE! This year they decided to do Edwardsville lifestyle family photos instead of a traditional park setting.
Anyway, their Edwardsville lifestyle family photos kicked off with a family pile on the couch and a dance party in the living room. I always love how kids are down to dance and party when I suggest a dance party! These candid moments are a treasure to capture.
After the dance party, we moved outside to take advantage of the beautiful summer weather. The family’s new home in Edwardsville boasts a lovely backyard.
Lifestyle family photos are more than just pictures; they are a reflection of your everyday life, capturing genuine moments that staged photos often miss. Lifestyle photography allows for a more relaxed and authentic portrayal of family life. It’s about capturing the essence of your family in a setting where you feel most at ease.
As a family photographer based in St. Louis, I’m fortunate to work with wonderful families in nearby cities like Edwardsville and Glen Carbon, IL. If you’re in Edwardsville, Glen Carbon, or the surrounding areas and want to capture your family, feel free to reach out. I’d love to help you document memories in your very own home.
