Dixie and Joey

I’ve been looking forward to Dixie and Joey’s Central Illinois wedding now for FOREVER!

I met Dixie the summer I met Macklin, and she and I became fast friends. It’s always intimidating to hang out with a new boyfriend’s group of friends, and she was one of the first people I clung to. If you know Dixie, she is one of the most beautiful people inside and out, so it’s so easy to adore her.

Fast forward nearly 10 years, and Macklin and I were both so honored to photograph her and Joey’s wedding.

You may recognize her and Joey’s holiday engagement session from 2018! It was such a fun session. Their home was perfectly adored with the most gorgeous Christmas decorations.

Dixie and Joey’s September wedding in Decatur was absolutely gorgeous. Perhaps a little windy at times, but we managed to avoid rain and the breeze felt amazing.

I am from Decatur, so it was a fun challenge to find spots around town for their photos that I’d never shot at before. We rode around with their large crew of close friends taking photos around Decatur.

I think Dixie was one of the most gorgeous brides I’ve ever seen (ok maybe this blog is turning into a love letter to her?!). Joey is such a great match for her! He gets all her quirks. And he is such a great person, too. We couldn’t be happier for BOTH of them!
