I am stoked to share Katie and Jimmy’s intimate Saint Louis Contemporary Art Museum wedding on the blog!
I am ashamed it took 6 months to share Katie and Jimmy’s wedding on the blog because I simply LOVE them and love the photos. But alas, life with small kids and a busy full schedule, the blog falls to the back burner sometimes.
To start, I loved that Katie and Jimmy got ready together at their home (with their new pup, too!). It provided such a relaxing atmosphere. Once they were ready, they did a grand reveal with their family. It is really popular right now to do a reveal with bridesmaids. I loved this approach so much, being celebrated by their parents, siblings, nieces and nephews.
When I took engagement photos for Katie and Jimmy last year, they wanted to include their dog Caesar who was so important to them. Sadly just a couple of weeks later, Caesar passed away. I am so glad they had their engagement photos to document what their family looked like with Caesar. Katie honored Caesar by including his dog tag in her bouquet. I thought that was such a sweet nod to include his memory with them.
Following their St. Xavier College Church ceremony, Katie and Jimmy opted for an unconventional reception, choosing the Saint Louis Contemporary Art Museum as their venue. The cocktail-hour style reception allowed their guests to mingle, appreciate art, and revel in the beauty of the museum’s exhibits while savoring delectable bites and delightful conversations.
Instead of a dance floor, the couple focused on fostering connections among their guests, encouraging meaningful conversations, and creating an ambiance that mirrored their personalities—sophisticated yet laid-back, artful, and filled with genuine connections.
I just loved the way Katie and Jimmy approached their Saint Louis Contemporary Art Museum wedding day, creating a day that resonates deeply with who they are as individuals and as a pair.
